Tick, Tock, Eyes on the Clock

Oil on 36 x 36 inch canvas

$3,000

At first glance, this painting looks like a playful setting of vintage clocks set against a colorful geometric wallpaper. It seems like nothing more than a nostalgic and whimsical piece. But look closer… While all the clocks show the same time—the Kit Cat clock in the center is ticking just seconds from mid-night—quietly sounding the alarm as the other clocks stare and hang there in unified conformity. Some look angry, some alarmed, some confused, others amused as they look upon the middle clock that contradicts their time.

This is more than a painting. It’s a piece that sounds the alarm. We see this world turning in every way except the correct one and one must wonder: when will it end? Is time running out for this reality? “Tick, Tock, Eyes on the Clock” challenges the viewer to wake up, look deeper, and keep their eyes on the clock.
