(pronounced Ry-lan Sand-o-val)

Hi! My name is Reilan! I’m a visual artist whose work explores patterns that I use to symbolize the inner person—a style I call Motifism.

Although I have spent the last 11 years focusing on painting standalone visual works, my real dream has always been to create children’s books and illustrated novels. So now, after spending over a decade as an artist, I’m finally expanding my work into the realm of storytelling and exploring my whimsical world of Elsewhere, where my patterned characters come to life.

My debut picture book, Water Your Flowers, marks the beginning of my growing collection of stories inspired by virtues, personal development, and what makes us who we are. Every one of my illustrations is hand-painted and paired with a story that I hope will leave a meaningful impression on all readers.

Water Your Flowers will be available December 1, 2026.
